Commercial Solar PV Service Manager, Position Overview: 

This position is responsible for commercial solar PV service obligations in the Northeastern US.  Management duties include: commercial EPC contract review and service obligations; commercial warranty service obligations; commercial EPC commissioning events.  Daily responsibilities include scheduling, dispatching, sub-contracting, and management for all EPC Contract obligations such as: EPC Contract Review and Departmental sign-off, System Commissioning, Performance Guarantees, PV system warranty repairs, etc.   This position interacts with external entities such as manufacturers, vendors, commercial customers.  Travel up to 30%.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establishing relationships and coordinating work with subcontractors
  • Participation in the development and execution of departmental procedures
  • Identifying resource needs and Hiring staff to fulfill obligations of the department
  • Fluency with service related tools including computer programs and software platforms
  • Management of day-to-day activities related to cases and work orders including material procurement and RMA tracking
  • Commercial contract review with focus on warranties, guarantees, and service obligations
  • Commercial project commissioning event management and coordination
  • Scheduling and Dispatch Management of Commercial Commissioning Events, Warranty Service (Workmanship and/or OEM) and Post installation courtesy service
  • Participate in the facilitation of professional development and training for staff
  • Customer service, phone calls, and emails for both internal and external customers
  • Escalation of major issues to the Director of Commercial Operations
  • Fleet Management and required tool coordination
  • Assist with design and installation of (DAS) solutions for commercial projects

 Standards & Expectations:

  • Contributions and collaboration at departmental and company meetings
  • Successfully manage and schedule service resources to respond to multiple work orders each week
  • Successfully resolve service cases and work orders to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure service calls are responded to in accordance with department policy and procedures
  • Coordinate coverage for job role during absence and provide coverage for others

 Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills and customer follow-up
  • Must be highly organized & have ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of solar PV design, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC code, specifically Article 690
  • Able to read and understand electrical and structural plans
  • Possess knowledge to identify proper electrical workmanship practices
  • Experience working with electricity and grid inter-tie components
  • Understanding of Data Monitoring Systems and related wiring
  • Excellent teamwork skills ability to foster a positive team environment through collaborative decision making
  • Strong computer skills including standard MS applications

Valued but not required:

  • Electrical licensure
  • NABCEP Certification
  • Construction experience
  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Degree
  • Salesforce experience

 Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Driving required to site locations

 Work environment: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. Work environment changes from day to day: in office and outdoors on the ground, and on roofs of all pitches. Regular exposure to dangerous electrical components.  The daily temperature varies from hot to cold depending on the season.
