Position Overview:

The Project Management Support Specialist assists the residential project management team with day-to-day tasks such as permit applications, inspection staffing, and design support.  This position combines administrative and some technical duties and as such this position will learn the basic fundamentals of solar PV design and the administrative side of the project implementation process. This individual will compile permit applications, apply for permits at various jurisdictions, meet with plans reviewers, staff building and electrical inspections, and perform general administrative duties for the residential project management team. This role requires a residential wireman's license.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Combines knowledge of solar PV installation and project implementation to support the residential project management team
  • Represent Namaste Solar to various AHJs while applying for permits and staffing inspections
  • Assists project management team in daily functions including creation of permit applications, staffing inspections, walking customers through system turn-on, and other design related and reporting tasks as needed
  • Assists project management team with other day-to-day tasks in order to support a cohesive and smooth running project management team
  • Assist Operations Manager
  • Assist Project Managers
  • Assist Install Team and Warehouse Manager
  • Perform general office, field, & administrative tasks as requested 

Essential Functions:

  • Compile applications for building permits
  • Maintain working knowledge of Permitting requirements in local AHJs
  • Meet with plans reviewers and zoning officials to obtain necessary permits
  • Schedule and staff building inspections by coordinating with customers, installers, inspectors, and project manager
  • Process CRM entries pre- and post- install
  • Compile sales orders and equipment lists
  • Assists PM team with design work 

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Residential Wireman's license required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Driving record meets requirements of our insurance carrier
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Detail oriented
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Proficient with computers and the following applications: MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 

Non-Essential (Valued but not required skills &experience):

  • Understanding of solar PV installation and design
  • Basic knowledge of NEC section 690 is a plus
  • Background in project management or engineering is a plus
  • Knowledge of CAD, Salesforce, and/or Smartsheet 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Must be able to lift and climb ladders to access roofs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Driving required to site locations
  • Work environment: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. Work environment is in an office and driving between AHJs.
